Less is More Challenge -  Recipe METAL

When I saw today's challenge at Less is More, I wasn't sure what I was going to do!

I then thought about running some metal foil through my Big Shot using an embossing folder. So far so good.

It needed a bit more metal so I stamped and punched out three butterflies. By threading two beads on to some fine wire and twisting together I made their antennae.

I used the matching punch, for my embossing folder, to make a banner for my sentiment. This was finished off with a stamped and punched flower. More beads were added to the flower as stamens.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Last week I was asked to make a Silver Wedding Anniversary Card, and then this week the same person asked me to make a Golden Wedding version, so this is what I came up with!

I cut out a circle aperture for my branch and birds to sit in. This was surrounded by some flowers and leaves. I added some beads to the centre of the flowers, and one for each of the bird eyes.

Less is More Challenge -   MASCULINE

A very simple card from me today, for the Masculine Challenge. I created an embossed border to give somewhere to anchor my strings of banners. Using some coordinating scraps of blue paper, I folded the paper in half and punched them out with my banner punch, (being careful to avoid the fold!).

I then stamped out the letters for my sentiment, before gluing and folding over a piece of embroidery thread. Four holes were made in my border to push the embroidery thread through. Four rhinestones hide the holes, and finish off my card.

Less is More Challenge -   One Layer Week 158 Anything Goes!

The Challenge at Less is More this week gave me the chance to try out a new technique, and that was to use my Stampin' Up! Markers with an Aquapainter.

I created an embossed border and stamped my image in to the gap. Using the coordinating stamp I stamped my main image. The borders were just coloured, but I've used an Aquapainter with the main image.

Once I had stamped my sentiment I pierced a border round it.

I quite like the watercolour effect that I got by using my Aquapainter, and will definitely be doing this again!

Happy Birthday Verity

I had been asked to make a birthday card for a friend's daughter. The only thing I was specifically asked for was that it be purple and black!

I mounted some glitter card on to my white card base, and then embossed a panel of black. I made a tag with my scalloped tag topper and added some flowers made with my sizzix spiral flower die.

Using my simply scored scoring tool, I made a box to send it in.
